The State of Illinois Citizen Corp, with partnerships of Emergency Managers in the state will be hosting the 2012 Prairie State CERT Challenge on Saturday September 29th from 7:30am-4:00pm at the NIPSTA facility in Glenview during the National Preparedness Month. This event will bring Citizen Emergency Response Teams (CERT) from all over Illinois with simulated stations to test their skills. HandsOn Suburban Chicago role is to engage volunteers during the Challenge.  Observing CERT trained volunteers in “Deployment Roles” is inspiring to witness. This event would not be able to launch without support staff and volunteers. Role Playing Volunteers are especially needed who would act as victims for the CERT Volunteers to “treat”.  No experience is neccessary, as training will be available on the day of the Challenge.  Lunch will be provided. Come join us for the day and see how volunteers are being prepared to help YOU in a disaster. Volunteers need to be over the age of 18.
