The North Canton, Ohio native died Feb. 20 after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, George; sisters Margie (Wunderle) Brown of North Canton and Susan (Wunderle) Kirby of Louisville, Ohio; brother Jim Wunderle, of North Canton; brother-in-law Ted (Anne) Theophilos; mother-in-law Demetra Phelus, five nieces and nephews (Dean, Jamie, George, Matthew and Cassie), and many other family members and friends. Ann is preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen (Ramsburg) Wunderle, and her father, Paul Wunderle.
Ann retired in 2010 from Chloride North America as its Vice President of Human Resources (1987-2010). She also worked as a clinical social worker (1984-2000) and as a director of special programs at Northwestern University (1976-1986). Ann was a life-long learner. She held a BA from Malone University (Canton, Ohio), a MSW from the University of Illinois at Chicago, an MBA and an MHRM from Keller Graduate School of Management. She attended Trinity International University (MDIV program 1975-1977), took various courses at Northwestern University and in 2010, enrolled in the MLS program at Lake Forest College. In addition, Ann held several professional memberships, certifications and licensures. She loved classical music and played the piano, cello and classical guitar. Ann loved spending time with her family, was an avid reader and gardener, loved walking (especially in the woods), and loved her pets.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Feb 24 at N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Road, Glenview. The memorial service is 10:30 a.m. Feb. 25 at Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 1401 Wagner Road, Glenview.
