Canned Food Drive nets more than 102,000 donations
Glenbrook South was able to far exceed its initial goal of 100,007 cans during its most recent Canned Food Drive that concluded on November 22.
GBS brought in 102,261 cans to help those less fortunate during the holiday season. Many friendly rivalries took place between class periods and other groups that helped surpass the original goal set by student council.
All proceeds were directed toward local and Chicago area charitable efforts such as: Onward House (a Chicago settlement house), the Northfield Township Food Pantry and Vital Bridges (an organization that helps people impacted by HIV and AIDS).
