Deerfield's Flashcut CNC sponsors "Bike to Work" event to benefit Glenview-based Skin of Steel
Thirty riders participated in Deerfield-based
Flashcut CNC’s annual “Bike to Work” fundraiser
on August 6 benefiting Skin of Steel. Skin of Steel is a Glenview-based nonprofit seeking to develop Chicago into a center of excellence for melanoma research and treatment. Flashcut CNC, a technology company specializing in robotic and CNC controls, selected Skin of Steel as the recipient of this year’s donation in honor of a Flashcut employee who is battling Stage IV melanoma.
Starting in the wee hours of the morning, bikers
covered 25 miles and raised over $6,000 for Skin of Steel. Special kudos go to Zach Scott, a Flashcut engineer, who won the coveted “Yellow Jersey” for raising the most money -
$1,000.
