Gus Papajohn was husband for 60 years of the late Ethel Papajohn nee Dimas; father of Christine, Katherine (Ted) Sawicz, George (Karen Anderson) and Dean (Bethany) Papajohn; grandfather of Jennifer, Sarah, Daniel, Amelia, Eva, and Leonidas; brother of Virginia Kapellas, the late Aphrodite and George Papajohn; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Papajohn was a veteran of World War II and had a long career as a professional photographer and manager with Allstate in Northbrook. As a cinematographer, he was involved in many projects including a Studs Turkel documentary on Chicago, a documentary on Mies van der Rohe and an African safari for television. Mr. Papajohn was a loving father dedicated to his children and grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his kind heart and sense of humor.

Funeral Service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18 at Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
