Already one of the region’s largest independent electronics and appliance retailers, Glenview-based Abt will soon be getting even bigger.

According to a Crain’s Chicago Business blogger, the company will begin working with major home security brands like GE and Honeywell offering security services to customers throughout Illinois and Wisconsin.

Starting this month, customers can request services including door and window sensor installation, motion detectors and carbon monoxide and smoke detectors, the blog shared. 

Plus, the 100,000-square-foot retail space is heading for expansion with the addition of a second-floor mattress and bedding accessories showroom. Scheduled for completion in mid-July, the new mattress selection will feature high-end brands including Tempur-pedic and Swedish-made Carpe Diem. 

Open for more than 75 years, Abt remains one of Glenview's largest employers with more than 1,000 team members supporting the company's 'Pleasing People...Since 1936' slogan.
