Book Talk Raises $10,000 for American Cancer Society

The North Shore Woman's Board of the American Cancer Society along with The Book Stall in Winnetka welcomed New York Times best-selling author Lee Woodruff for the release of her new book Those We Love Most at the Glen Club in Glenview on Friday, September 28. She talked about her first fiction novel Those We Love Most as well as her worldview on topics such as marriage, motherhood, journalism and the war — the most significant is that everything can go to hell in an instant.

This was a sold out event with 200+ guests as well as many ACS North Shore Woman’s Board members including Nancy Miller, Nancy Sullivan, Laura Shock, Diane House, Jan Evans, Stacy Cohen, Aimee Ogden, Barbara Whipple, Ann Lynch, Jill Lohmann, Kristen Huber, Peggy Hopkins, Marley Crane, Janet Hunken, Dana Roeser, Carolyn Duris, Pat Gillis, Sharon Farrell, Jamie Knez, Carolyn Nyren and Renata Norum. The event raised more than $10,000 for the American Cancer Society.

Lee Woodruff is the coauthor with her husband Bob Woodruff, of the number one bestseller In an Instant and they author of Perfectly Imperfect. She is a contributing editor to CBS This Morning and has written numerous articles on family and parenting magazines. She and Bob founded the Bob Woodruff Foundation to assist wounded service members and their families. She has four children and lives in Westchester County, New York.
