UPDATE ComEd: Power Outages Could Last For Days
Agency reports that more than 400,000 customers had lost power in its service area.
After last night's massive storm restoring power to ComEd's northern region--including Gleniew--could be a multiple-day effort due to the extent of the damage, a ComEd official told Patch.
700 crews are working hard throughout the Chicago area and by Thursday evening at midnight, ComEd expects to have 90 percent of all power restored, spokesperson Alicia Zatkowski said this afternoon.
"One of the challenges with this storm was that there were many individual outages," Zatkowski said. "Were trying to restore as many customers as we can as quickly as we can."
In the agency's northern region, which was hit the hardest, there were 187,000 customers without power as of 7 a.m. this morning, according to ComEd. In total, 400,000 customers throughout the Chicago area were affected.
By 4 p.m., Zatkowski told Patch that the number of customers without power in its northern region was down to 137,000.
Residents are advised to call ComEd at 1-800-EDISON-1 to report power outages and to call 911 to report downed power lines.
Editor's Note: Stay tuned to Glenview Patch. We are updating this story regularly throughout the day as information from ComEd and the village becomes available.

You have been great with this coverage. We are out of town & this has been a great way to keep in touch. We had downed limbs on parkway trees & yard and were concerned about power. Thanks for a job well done!
