The Glen celebrated Father's Day Sunday with a third annual car show featuring an impressive array of vehicles.

More than 100 cars enthusiasts brought their prized posessions out of garages to line the streets of Navy Boulevard and Tower Road in the Town Center. From classic wheels to luxury cars, the vehicle collection delighted onlookers of all ages.

Awards were given to the top 25 vehicles on display in a variety of catergories.

Cars exhibited Sunday included a '58 Chevy Corvette, a 1989 Bentley Turbo R, a '59 Chevy Bel Air, and even an 1898 Oldsmobile Horseless Carriage.

A kin to an interactive outdoor car musuem, guests were able to inquire about the cars directly from their owners, often found lounging in chairs next to their 'babies'.

The event is organized by Phil Kranz, of Black Dog Promotions, who hosts a number of car shows around the Chicago area throughout the year.

"It's a great venue, probably the best," said Kranz of The Glen. In it's third year, Kranz said Sunday's show saw the highest turnout yet. "We couldn't have asked for a better day."

Ha, well then you have that in common with journalists! 1955 it is. Sorry about that--maybe I need a stronger prescription in my glasses?
