Glenview Burglary Map January 2013

These 16 police reports were provided by the Glenview Police Department and compiled by Patch.

Glenview had about 16 burglary cases last month, ranging from families coming home to discover missing jewelry, items stolen from parked vehicles, even one case of a ruse burglary where a man who claimed he "needs to check the water" distracted homeowners while a possible accomplice stole items in another room.

Patch put together a map of crimes in January based on information from the Glenview Police Department. Scroll over each point on the map for information about the crime and click through on the window that pops up for a more in-depth description.

People need to keep strangers OUT of their homes! In a bad economy such as this one, desperate people will do BAD things to others... Keep doors and windows LOCKED, get properly licensed to own a gun, get an ALARM with a Cellular Backup (the professionals cut the phone lines), have Motion-Sensing LIGHTS installed, and ALWAYS keep window blinds or drapery closed at night... By following these few simple steps, you will be much safer.
