Glenview Library Won't Separate From Village
Glenview trustees decided not to create a separate library district because of the potential taxpayer burden.
Glenview's trustees decided not to seperate the Glenview public library from the Village of Glenview, during a village board meeting on Tuesday — an idea first introducted during recent budget negotiations, according to the Journal & Topics.
“We concluded it would not be in the best interests of the taxpayer," Glenview Library Board President M. David Johnson told the Journal & Topics. “For one thing, the library’s ComEd bill would increase by $100,000 right away.”
