Off-Duty Glenview Cop Attacked in Chicago — Daniel Domke, a 26-year-old Glenview police officer, was hit with a baseball bat in Lincoln Park Saturday night at 7:16 p.m. after yelling at a driver who almost ran him and a friend over with his car, according to a Chicago police report.
Northbrook Man Found Dead in Glenview From Cold Exposure — Edwin Mason, 71, of Northbrook, was found dead in his car on the 1500 block of Milwaukee Ave. in Glenview. His death was ruled an accident by the Cook County Medical Examiner.
Police: Glenview Restaurant Owner Reports Hate Crime — On Dec. 29, the owner of a restaurant on the 900 block of Harlem Ave. reported receiving numerous harassing phone calls at the restaurant throughout December, police say. The caller repeatedly swears and uses racial slurs, according to police.
First Indian Restaurant Opens In Glenview — Turmeric is a leafy, green plant, related to ginger, whose root is commonly used as a spice in curries and other Asian foods. Turmeric is also the first Indian restaurant to open in Glenview.
