The effect of Hurricane Sandy on Lake Michigan. Wind and waves at Gilson Park Oct. 29, 2012.

While Hurricane Sandy is expected to mostly bombard the East Coast, the North Shore isn't exempt from its aftermath.

The National Weather Service has issued a gale watch in effect from Monday to Tuesday night, with winds of 60 mph expected along the shoreline.

We braved the winds this afternoon to get some photos and a video of the waves at Lake Forest Beach. But we want to see yours too! To submit photos, click the green "Upload Photos and Videos" button below. Make sure to let us know where you took the photo.

We'll continue to keep you updated on any weather alerts.

I was down At the LB beach at 7:20. The waves were getting bigger just in the 20 minutes I was there. They have it taped off now. I couldn't get the video loader to work from my iPhone, here is a youTube link to if. I'll have hi-def video and photos later today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzWhT3p7Nk4
