Fourth North Shore Armed Robbery Attempted in Three Days
The lifeguard bandit strikes again. An offender robbed a Hubbard Woods shop on Friday afternoon. Police said he matches the description of a young man in a lifeguard sweatshirt who targeted three other North Shore stores, including one in Glenview.
A fourth retail store in the North Shore was targeted by an armed offender Friday afternoon, Winnetka police announced Saturday morning.
A man entered a shop in Hubbard Woods at about 1:30 p.m. with a knife and demanded cash from the clerk before leaving the store, according to police. Police declined to name the store, citing the pending investigation.
Police also declined to say how much money the offender took from the store.

The spree began Wednesday morning around 10:50 a.m. at Yellow Bird Stationery store in the Plaza Del Lago shopping center. A second incident at Claire’s, 2301 Town Center in Glenview, happened just after the store opened at 10 a.m. Thursday, police said. Just 35 minutes after the attempted robbery in Glenview, an employee at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Northfield was threatened at knife point.
Police describe the offender as a white male in his late teens or early 20s, wearing a red-hooded sweatshirt with "LIFE GUARD" in white letters, khaki shorts and flip flops. In addition, police said he is between 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with a slender build, a brown medium length buzz haircut and large, dark round-lens tortoise shell sunglasses.

Maybe if Illnois had a concealed carry law this wouldn't be happening.

It seems to me, it couldn't get any worse. Maybe these punks would think twice if there was a risk that their victims may be armed. When you read stories about the 90 year old D-day survivor brutally killed, it's time we all protect ourselves ... http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2012/05/07/d-day-paratrooper-and-wife-murdered-in-oklahoma/
