Glenview’s Olivia Smoliga, 17, finished 48th overall (56.59) in today’s 100-meter freestyle prelimineraries in Omaha, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The rising Glenbrook South senior placed 4th in the women’s backstroke finals Wednesday, missing a spot as an Olympic qualifier by only a few seconds.
Smoliga will next compete in the 50-meter freestyle beginning Sunday. She won the 50- and 100-yard freestyles at last season's state meet.
