Police Blotter: Senior Citizen Drives Drunk, Repeat Offender Shoplifts at Glen
Glenview Police Department arrests Aug. 15 – Aug. 16
Domestic Battery
On Aug. 16 at 2:45 p.m., Magdelene Wright, 37, of Glenview, was arrested in the 2000 block of Henley St. and charged with domestic battery. She was transported to court on Aug. 17 for a bond hearing.
Retail Theft
On Aug. 16 at 5 p.m., Julie Glassman, 35, of Chicago, was arrested in the 1800 block of Tower Dr. and charged with retail theft. She was released on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 20.
Glassman was also charged for shoplifting in Highland Park earlier this summer. On July 24, she was arrested and charged with retail theft after police investigated a theft that occurred on July 17 in the 1800 block of First Street. Glassman was released on a cash bond and is scheduled to appear in court for that charge this week (Aug. 22).
Harassment by Telephone
On Aug. 15 at 8 p.m. Tiffany Saarinen, 44, of Wilmette, was arrested at the Glenview Police Station and charged with disorderly conduct: making an obscene phone call. The charge is related to an incident that occurred on Aug. 12 in Glenview. She was transported to court on Aug. 16, appeared before a judge and received a $1,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 30.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol
On Aug. 15 at 10:07 p.m., Karon Brashares, 67, of Glenview, was arrested in the 3600 block of East Lake Ave. and charged with a DUI, improper lane usage and failure to signal when required. She was released on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 5.
A criminal charge represents an accusation; defendants named above are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
