Possible Cougar Sighted in Glenview

According to Glenview police, someone reported an animal resembling a cougar near their home on Crescent Ln. on Sunday.

On Sunday Sept. 23, a resident of the 4400 block of Crescent Ln. reported a cougar-like animal near their home on different occasions during the night and day, according to a recent Glenview Police report. The resident witnessed the animal run towards a retention pond near I-294, police say.

This is the year's first report of a cougar sighting in Glenview, though residents have been spotting a similar animal in Highland Park, Glencoe and Winnetka throughout the summer

Residents are urged to use caution and asked to report sightings of suspicious animals immediately. As a cougar’s main prey, deer carcasses should also be reported to local police. Contact Glencoe Community Service Officer Katie Sweeney at (847) 835-4112 for additional information.

The photo of the cougar serves no purpose other than to cause and support feline stereotypes. Besides, is that the ACTUAL cougar or only a representation?
