UPDATE: Pre-Trial Investigation Complete in Sexual Abuse Case

Case gets closer to completion for Glenview man accused of giving a 13-year-old Des Plaines girl herpes.

A pre-trial investigation for Allen Giron, a Glenview man charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, is complete according to statements made May 20 in the Skokie branch of Cook County Criminal Court.

The investigation was requested April 14 by Giron attorney Steven Goldman in an effort to stimulate a resolution. If convicted however, Giron could face up to seven years in prison for two alleged sexual encounters with a 13-year-old Des Plaines girl that left her with herpes, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Department.

Police were notified of Giron’s meetings with the alleged victim by the girl’s sister, who told police that the teen had “at least two sexual encounters” with Giron and had recently been diagnosed with herpes by a doctor.

Giron and the Des Plaines girl originally met on Facebook, according to statements Goldman made in court Jan. 31.

Judge Timothy Chambers acknowledged the report had been filed and that he had reviewed it. The investigation is normally conducted before a case can be resolved, according to Goldman.

Chambers continued the case until 9:30 a.m. June 16 in the Skokie branch of Cook County Circuit Court.
