Three Lehigh Burglaries in One Night

The following reports were provided by the Glenview Police Department. A criminal charge represents an accusation. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

 

On the morning of Oct. 8, three businesses on Lehigh Ave. each reported that they were the victims of burglaries that resulted in thousands of dollars in losses, police said.

The first incident was reported at 7:24 p.m. by the owner of a landscaping firm in the 1900 block of Lehigh Ave., according to police. The victim said that unknown offenders broke into his landscaping trucks there and made off with three lawnmowers and other landscaping equipment valued at $32,700, police said.

About an hour later, the foreman for Cardella and Son’s Landscaping reported that an unknown offender entered a locked trailer parked in a parking lot in the 2000 block of Lehigh Ave. at some point between 6:00 p.m. Oct. 6 and 7 a.m. Oct. 7, according to police. The offender allegedly lifted several items of landscaping equipment, for a loss of about $1,000, police said.

About a half hour later, the owner of Spiros Capital Energy, also in the 2000 block of Lehigh Avenue, reported that an unknown offender stole $3,200 worth of merchandise from the back of his business, according to police. Missing were six air conditioning motors, and two air conditioners. The owner said that the crime happened between 2 p.m. on Oct. 7, and 9 a.m. on Oct. 8, police said.
