Snow Up to 5” Predicted For Glenview Tuesday

Wind gusts could reach as high as 40 mph.

Another snowstorm is headed our way Tuesday and could bring a mixture of freezing rain, sleet and snow.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous winter outlook for much of the Chicago suburbs and predicts between three to five inches of new snow accumulation in Glenview.

"Heavy snow and strong east-northeast winds gusting to 40 miles per hour, especially on the lakefront, will reduce visibility and make travel hazardous," National Weather Service officials said in their winter weather message Sunday night.

The snow is expected to fall Tuesday morning after 9 a.m.

Snow and scattered flurries are expected for the remainder of the week with temperatures hovering around mid-30s during the day.

February to date has been very snowy despite a fairly snow-free winter in Chicago, the area has received about 10 inches of snow so far, accounting for nearly 75 percent of this winter’s total snowfall of 13.6 inches, Chicago Weather Center reported.
