Weekend Planner: What to Do Around Town

Here, a few ideas to get you out and about in Glenview this weekend.

Glenbrook South High School Presents Alice in Wonderland

Watch Glenbrook South High School take a trip down the rabbit hole as they present Alice in Wonderland. Your family can attend either the 7 p.m. showing Friday, or the showing at 1 p.m., Saturday.

Figure Skating Competition

Watch Chicago land figure skaters take to the ice in the annual Freeze Competition at Glenview's Indoor Ice Center. The competition takes place Friday and Saturday, check the park district's website for more details.

Curious George Exhibit at Kohl’s Children Museum

If you’re cooped up and running out of ideas to entertain your little ones, take a trip to Kohl’s Children Museum of Greater Chicago. The kids can tinker with all sorts of toys at the “Let’s Get Curious” exhibit, inspired by Margret Rey's Curious George children's book series. The exhibit will be at the museum until Feb. 5, so if you can’t go this weekend, you’ll have plenty of time.

Family Cooking Class

Even though the Bears won’t be making a Super Bowl appearance, that doesn’t mean you can’t cook up a feast for the game. The Viking Cooking School and Culinary Shop wants to teach you some new recipes to whip up for next Sunday. Register for the cooking class that takes place this Sunday, Jan. 30 by clicking here.

 Sunday, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Winter Tree ID at The Grove National Historic Landmark

If you enjoy the outdoors, you’ll enjoy taking your kids on this winter tree identification hike at the Grove National Historic Landmark on Sunday. The little ones will learn how to identify trees and afterward you’ll be able to warm-up, enjoying some hot cocoa around a bonfire.

Sunday, 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
