Trotting alongside my master this morning for my morning walk, I was enjoying the breeze and the smells. As I rounded the corner I saw cars racing along with rushed looking drivers inside. I found myself wondering if they were noticing how beautiful the sun is today and how green the grass is already. Maybe because I’m lower to the ground, I notice things like green grass, pretty flowers and little animals scurrying along (lucky for them I’m on a leash or they’d be running ; )
I know you humans have a lot more keeping you busy, but I couldn’t help thinking that maybe you all should wag your tails more. It’s important to celebrate the little things and tail wagging is one of the best ways I know to do that. Now, my tail is pretty short, but when I get excited it really gets going. And believe me it doesn’t take much – the sound of food being poured into my bowl, a ball being thrown, a squirrel running past, the smell of a treat or best yet, seeing someone that I love. That’s the best. When I hear that car drive up and see them get out, I get so excited. There is nothing better than being around the ones you love.
Do you still wag your tail for the ones you love? If you've gotten out of the habit, maybe it's time to give it a try again. Once your tail gets moving, that energy seems to spread and make everyone smile. Life is short (especially if you have to count it in dog years like I do). Make sure you take time to wag your tail for the little things today and remind the special people how much you love them.
