Abt unveiled the Samsung 85” Ultra HD TV on Wednesday night, the largest Smart television in the world. So far, only 250 units exist worldwide. The $40,000 television is voice and hand-gesture controlled, features built-in sound bars delivering 120 watts of sound in 2.2 channels and powered by 1.4GHz quad-core processor, IGN reported. Glenview's mobile home park will change ownership in 45 to 60 days, when the property exits foreclosure.
Sunset Village, Glenview's mobile home park at 2450 Waukegan Rd., will switch ownership this summer when it exits foreclosure in 45 to 60 days, according to a letter from Mike Vilches, President of the Sunset Village Residents’ Association. "The foreclosure will conclude within the next 45 to 60 days and the property will be sold at auction and the new owner will take position shortly thereafter," Vilches letter reads. "We have been told by October Investment Properties, LLC that they will own and operate Sunset Village as a manufactured home community." Sunset Village residents felt reassured when the new ownership visited the park on May 1 and conveyed their intentions to improve the park's living conditions, according to the letter…

More than 12 percent of Glenview's house and apartment market was considered affordable in 2004. Illinois suggests communities offer at least 10 percent of its market at affordable rates.
Glenview saw a 173 percent bump in rentors between 2000 and 2011, while the number of homeowners who had to spend at least 35 percent of their income on mortgage costs almost doubled, according to the 2000 U.S. Census and 2007-2011 American Community Survey data, the Chicago Tribune reports. While Illinois suggests at least 10 percent of a community's real estate and apartment market fits within the "affordable" range, Glenview already had 12.4 percent of its market in the "affordable" range when the Illinois Housing Development Agency evaluated the village in 2004, the Chicago Tribune reports. The classic treat popular in the 50s and 60s is still around, online or at a small food truck on the corner of Dundee and Skokie.
Northbrook's only food truck, the Roadside Kitchen, sits at the corner of Dundee Road and Skokie Boulevard Tuesday through Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It's also the only place you can still find an original-recipe Lucky Cake, the small, moist chocolate and vanilla cakes that were popular in the 50s and 60s. The food truck is owned and operated by Joe and Louise Rycraft, who say they've held Northbrook's only food truck license since November of last year. "We decided not to do traveling [service] like all the other food trucks do because we wanted to find regulars," Louise said. "We didn't want to fight for spots. It's less stressful that way."
