 ardeners will hold their annual Summer Garden Walk and plant sale on Sun
 day\, June 24th\, 1:00-4:00 p.m.&nbsp\; Guests are&nbsp\; invited. &nbsp
 \;Three Glenview area gardens will be open from 1:00-4:00 pm\, each char
 acterized by the garden club members who tend them. For directions visit
  the website.\n&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; The first garden to b
 e visited is at the home of Esther and Dan Behnke\, 2981 Landwehr Road\,
  Northbrook.&nbsp\; Their ever expanding mature garden features an abund
 ance of roses and perennials.&nbsp\; It has become an attraction for but
 terflies and is a sanctuary for birds.&nbsp\; A front shade garden is ne
 w this year. Garden assistants are Roshni and Noshir Khouri.\n&nbsp\;&nb
 sp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; The second garden to be visited is at the home
  of Nancy and Richard Spears\, 807 Surrey Lane\, Glenview.&nbsp\; Woodla
 nd flowers\,&nbsp\; prairie plants\, grasses\, and mixed perennials with
  annual accents surround the house.&nbsp\; Plants are allowed to natural
 ize and ground covers are often used instead of mulch.&nbsp\; A new perg
 ola and front porch add to the landscape.&nbsp\; Garden assistants are S
 arah Prouty and Jeanette Thornton Schwab.\n&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&
 nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; The third garden to be visited
  is at the home of Brigitte Steinforth\, 2138 Robincrest Lane\, Glenview
 .&nbsp\; Her newly edged backyard garden borders contain over 30 rose bu
 shes as well as perennials and annuals to take advantage of both sun and
  shade conditions.&nbsp\; Dahlias are her specialty. Garden assistants a
 re Pam Frank and Holly Jansen.\n&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Judy
  Oppegard is chairman of the event (847-724-2286)\, with Bill Oppegard a
 s co-chair. Plants and Gardening related items will be for sale at the s
 ites.&nbsp\; Refreshments are available.\n&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&n
 bsp\; Glenview Gardeners is an area garden club open to both men and wom
 en who are interested in all aspects of gardening. Interests include ind
 oor/outdoor gardening\, landscape design and specialty gardening.&nbsp\;
