DESCRIPTION:The Rotary Club of Glenview Sunrise Welcomes John Huston\, a 
 noted polar explorer as our guest speaker for Thursday\, December 6\, 20
 12. John Huston will give us input into foundations for Community Servic
 e\, International Service\, and Vocational Service.\nJohn Huston has com
 pleted major expeditions on to the North Pole\, South Pole and on Greenl
 and. He works as a motivational speaker\, safety and logistics consultan
 t\, and wilderness guide. John also works part time in commercial real e
 state. He has had numerous appearances on CNN\, The History Channel\, th
 e BBC\, and National Public Radio and in Outside Magazine\, Popular Mech
 anics\, the Chicago Tribune\, and the Los Angeles Times. John sees his e
 xpeditions as values based journeys that push him beyond his limits and 
 challenge him to new levels of possibility. In April of 2009 John and hi
 s partner in expeditions\, Tyler Fish\, became the first and only Americ
 ans to travel &ldquo\;unsupported&rdquo\; from land to the North Pole. T
 his was no easy expedition! This fifty five day\, four hundred and seven
 ty five- mile journey has been accomplished by only 13 expeditions and h
 as been called the &ldquo\;toughest expedition on the planet.&rdquo\; To
  travel unsupported means to travel under one&rsquo\;s own power without
  resupply of materials. In December of 2011\, John and Tyler published F
 orward: The First American Unsupported Expedition to the North Pole.&rdq
 uo\;\nFounded in Chicago over 100 years ago\, Rotary is a world-wide\, n
 on-denominational service organization. The Rotary Club of Glenview Sunr
 ise is active in a wide variety of community and international service p
 rojects and is affiliated with Rotary International to advance numerous 
 humanitarian projects\, including the drive to eradicate polio worldwide
 .&nbsp\; The club meets weekly at the Glenview Park Golf Club Caf&eacute
 \; at 800 Shermer Road in Glenview.&nbsp\; The meetings begin at 7 AM an
 d feature weekly speakers. Members of the public interested in service a
 re welcome to attend.&nbsp\;\nThe club invites members of the public int
 erested in hearing John Huston &nbsp\;present and learning more about Ro
 tary to attend this program.&nbsp\; The entry fee of $12 includes the pr
