Home Sales Up 24% In Glenview, Golf So Far This Year

Prices have also increased compared to the same period last year, from a median sale price of $475,000 in October 2012 to $487,000 in October 2013.

Home sales are up 24.2 percent in Glenview and Golf this year as compared to the same period last year, according to the latest data from the North Shore-Barrington Association of Realtors.

The association reports that 462 detached single-family homes were sold in Glenview and Golf from Jan. 1 through the end of October, up from the 372 detached single-family homes sold year-to-date by October 2012.

Median sale price also saw a slight uptick, from $475,000 in October 2012 to $487,000 in October 2013, a 2.5 percent increase. 

Overall, year-to-date home sales have already exceeded 2012 figures. By the end of October 2012, markets represented by the North Shore-Barrington Association of Realtors (NSBAR) had seen 4,478 detached home sales, as compared to 4,408 units sold by the end of 2012. 

“Steady sales have been driven by committed buyers looking to capitalize on this opportune market to buy,” realtor and NSBAR president Jim Votanek said in a release. 

In contrast to Glenview and Golf, home sales increased in Evanston by 13.1 percent year-to-date and by 45 percent in Lake Forest.
