St. Philip Lutheran Church In Glenview Welcomes Their New Pastor, a former sportswriter, Angela Denker.

Hailing from Maple Grove, Minn., Pastor Angela Denker brings to her call at St. Philip a passion for sharing the Gospel and her real-life experience as a national sportswriter.

Pastor Angela has always been passionate about writing and sports, but to her the call of proclaiming the Gospel is even more exciting. As a sports writer Angela covered the Super Bowl in 2009 and also had her work published in Sports Illustrated in 2007.

So, it looks like Sundays at St. Philip Lutheran Church are going represent a new meaning to “pregame analysis” this season. 

“I am very excited to be serving at St. Philip Lutheran Church with its strong history of service, engaging congregation and diverse worship styles,” said Pastor Angela.

St. Philip Lutheran Church offers a traditional service every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and a second service at 10 a.m. featuring progressive Christian rock music performed by professional Chicago-based musicians. Members of St. Philip are involved in several community ministries including the Tuesday Meal Kitchen, Wings, PADS and more.
