New Plan Commission Welcomed at Maine Township

The Board earlier accepted an updated Maine Township Comprehensive Plan. The commission will follow the guidelines in the plan as it evaluates zoning and other matters in the future.

When it was first formed in 2000, the Maine Township Plan Commission was among the very first in the State of Illinois. It was formed under a state provision as a way to have some control over zoning and development in the unincorporated area.
