Portrait Photographer Bill Sanders is July Exhibitor at the Y's Community Gallery

Photographer Bill Sanders returns to the North Suburban YMCA’s Community Gallery with a new show exhibited during the month of July called “Faces, Places & Composites.”  Mr. Sanders first displayed his portraits and composites in February as part of The Northbrook Community Relations Commission’s Black History Month celebration.  The public is invited to a reception in his honor at the Y on Wednesday, July 2nd from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Currently a freelance photographer, Bill Sanders’s focus is on portrait photography both in and out of the studio. In addition to portraits, he creates composites by combining several photos onto a single image.  Some of these composites are realistic and some are surreal in nature. In this exhibit he also includes photos of landscapes and scenery from around the Chicago area.

“My photo journey started when I purchased a used 35 mm camera while in the Air Force over 40 years ago. I have moved on from film photography to digital photography,” commented Sanders. “The invention of photography opened up opportunities for many more individuals to do what only people with painting talents could do before.”

The North Suburban YMCA’s Community Gallery features monthly public exhibits that showcase the talent of local artists. All of the work featured in this exhibit is for sale, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the North Suburban YMCA's Visual Arts Department. In addition, you can book a session in his studio and 10% of the proceeds will go to the Y.
