The American Craft Exposition Kicks-Off Its 30th Season

On Wednesday, January 29, The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) proudly began its celebration of the American Craft Exposition's (ACE) 30th year. Over 45 ACE committee members were in attendance at NorthShore Evanston Hospital, along with this year’s Co-Chairs, Susan White and Debbie Hulick, to hear from special guests Gustavo Rodriguez, MD, of NorthShore and long-time ACE artist Jonathan Rutledge.

Funds raised at this year’s ACE will continue to support pioneering ovarian cancer research at NorthShore – A cause the group has now been supporting for 11 years. Gustavo Rodriguez, MD shared how this critical research is already showing promising results in preventing ovarian cancer in at-risk women.

Artist Jonathan Rutledge, who first exhibited at ACE 10 years ago as an emerging artist, shared how he uniquely combines ancient metalworking methods with modern style to create jewelry unparalleled in quality and flair. An Evanston resident, Rutledge attributes a great deal of his success to being the first emerging artist at ACE when the category was established in 2004.
