Eight-year-old Lacey Horwitch and her family are asking for the community's help.
Lacey was diagnosed with HLH (hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis), and has been at the University of Chicago Medical Center since August.
Lacey is currently in need of a bone marrow transplant. How can you help? It's easy.
There will be a bone marrow drive on Sunday, December 11, from 9 am until 1 pm, at North Suburban Beth El, 1175 Sheridan Road, in Highland Park.
The drive will be held inside the building, in the Grossinger Brickman Room. Anyone ages 18-60 can be tested to see if they are a match, and also join the bone marrow registry if they choose.
The intial test only consists of a chee swab, and additional tests are only done if you are a match.
For additional information about the Bone Marrow Registry, log on to the site www.bethematch.com, or call 1-800-MARROW2 (1-800-627-7692).
If you have questions, please contact Rabbi Michael Schwab, of North Suburban Synagogue Beth El, at 847-432-8900, extension 212. Or e-mail him at email@example.com
Thank you Glenview.
