Celebrate Your Racing Spirit at the Turbo Truck Event

Take advantage of a racing simulator to capture the thrill of driving a racecar and pose for pictures with a real racecar at the Turbo Truck Event.

Ever wondered what it feels like to drive a racecar? Or wanted to pose like you’re ready for the Indy 500?

You’ll have your chance July 26-27 at a Turbo Truck Event at Deerfield Tire, featuring a racing simulator you can sit in to capture the thrill of driving a racecar, a real racecar to pose with for pictures, as well as giveaways, popcorn and hotdogs.

The event will take place 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27 at Deerfield Tire, 120 N. Waukegan Road, Deerfield.

Turbo is a new movie comedy opening July 17 that tells the tale of  “an underdog snail who kicks into overdrive when he miraculously obtains the power of super-speed," according to the official Turbo Movie website. Turbo puts his dreams on the line to help his friends achieve theirs, while never giving up on his dream of winning the Indy 500.

To celebrate that racing spirit, Deerfield Tire is bringing in a big Turbo semi-truck with a real racing car inside. Kids will be able to get pictures with the racecar.

Adults can take advantage of a tire sale during the event. “We will be promoting value and savings for people who are in the market for new tires,” said Garrett Garofolo of Deerfield Tire. Visit their website at www.deerfieldtireco.com for more information.

If the drivers in your family are teenagers, be sure to sign up for the Bridgestone Teens Drive Smart Driving Experience on Aug. 3-4. This free, half-day workshop uses hands-on training to teach new teenage drivers how to avoid accidents and eliminate distracted driving. The event will be held at Toyota Park, 7000 S. Harlem Avenue, Bridgeview. For more information and to register, visit the teensdrivesmarttour.com website.
