A bulldozer has started taking down the buildings on the south side of the 1800 block of Glenview Road.

Although not quite visible yet from the main road, most of the back of the former Glenview State Bank building has been demolished.

The structures, including the former Fire Station 6, are being removed to make way for Midtown Square, a four-story building with apartments above ground-floor retail that was approved by the Village Board last spring.
