Electronic Recycling, Document Shredding in Glenview on Saturday

The event will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at 2500 E. Lake Ave.

Glenview's making it easy to get a bit greener. The village will host an electronic recycling and document shredding event from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on July 20 at the police department parking lot, 2500 E. Lake Ave.

Televisions and computer monitors are banned from Illinois landfills, this event helps people dispose of them safely.

Acceptable items include: computers, monitors, cable receiver, computer cable, converter boxes, DVD players, fax machines, keyboards, mice, mobile telephones, MP3 players, PDAs, printers, satellite receivers, scanners, televisions, video game consoles, VHS players and zip drivers.

Additionally, drop off up to six file-size boxes or shopping bags of documents for shredding. Destroying sensitive documents helps prevent identity theft.
