Family Fun at Glenview Summer Festival

Summer festivals are one of the best things about warm weather months in Chicago. Here in Glenview, we’re proud to roll out the 39th Annual Glenview Summer Festival (known as the Glenview Street Sale in a past life).

June 30th's festivities start bright and early at Glenview Road between Waukgean and Harlem Avenue. The all-day event (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) is hosted by the and features wares from Glenview merchants at ‘street sale’ prices. The festival offers fun for the whole family plus tastings from nearby restaurants and local artwork galore.

Area organizations (including Patch!) will be offering activities and raffles throughout the day. Food, live entertainment and support for local businesses—what could be bad?

Come find us and we promise to give you some Patch goodies! We’ll have everything from balloons for the kiddos to aluminum water bottles for families on the go.

The Village reminds residents that Glenview Road will be closed from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday to accommodate the festival, and parking will be restricted on Dewes Street from Waukegan Road to Washington Street; the west side of Church Street from Glenview Road to Grove Street; and the north side of Prairie Street from Pine Street to Church Street.

Additionally, during the festival, animal, bicycle and roller skate traffic will be restricted on Glenview Road through the downtown area to enhance the safety of participants on the crowded streets and sidewalks.

Psst! The Glenview Summer Festival isn't the only fun thing going on around town this weekend. The second  of the season will start at 9 a.m. at 1510 Wagner Road just across from . Parking is available directly adjacent to the market at The Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church.
