Glen's Navy Boulevard Receives Honorary New Name

The new street name was picked in honor of the Glenview's former village president, Nancy Firfer.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Glen Town Center's opening, the Village of Glenview has given Navy Boulevard the honorary new name of Nancy Firfer Boulevard, according to Glenview's website.

Firfer was a former Glenview president who played a big part in the Naval Air Station's redevelopment as The Glen, according to the site.

"Nancy Firfer spent more than 24 years in service to the community," Glenview's current president, Kerry Cummings, said in the street's proclamation. "She never failed to give her best and highest service to this Village and its residents, thereby making a lasting impact upon the community."
