Glenview Family of CTA Fall Victim Hopes to Educate on Dangers of the Third Rail

Family and friends say Jeff La Valle, who died after falling onto CTA tracks, always liked to smile and help resolve conflicts.

More than 450 people gathered at a funeral home in Skokie on July 5 to celebrate the life of Jeff La Valle, who died after falling onto the tracks at the Howard Street station, Chicago Tribune reported.

Family member remembered La Valle as someone who liked to smile and help resolve conflicts and said they hope to educate the community on the dangers of the third rail, which supplies CTA trains with electricity, “A lot of suburban kids don’t even know what the third rail is,” his father, Al La Valle, told the newspaper.
