Glenview Optimist Club Hosts GPS Adventure

On Sunday. Apri. 7, friends and families can go on a crosstown adventure for a chance to win gifts and prizes.

On Sunday, April 7, the Glenview Optimist Club is hosting a GPS adventure for friends and families from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. starting at the Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook facility at 3080 W. Lake Ave.

For $45, teams will use clues and GPS coordinates to find places and items in town to collect gifts and prizes. The event will raise funds for local youth organizations and programs supported by The Optimist Club.

Teams need one driver and one smart phone as they navigate Glenview's historical landmarks, community areas or businesses.

There’s a potpourri of locations. When people arrive at them, they use a bar code scanner to get the next hint of where the next place is located,” Tom Durment, an Optimist Club Board member told the Glenview Announcements.

Prizes include a weekend stay at The Abbey in Lake Geneva, Wis., a $100 gift certificate for Abt Electronics and two $50 Visa gift cards from Glenview State Bank, according to the Glenview Announcements.

Sounds like an informative meeting. Local officials need to coordinate and intensify efforts toRead More properly manage storm water from major storm systems that are much more common than they used to be.
