Glenview Residents Help Clean Up Chicago River

Dozens of Glenview residents joined volunteers on May 11 to remove trash and invasive plants during the Chicago River clean up day.

More than 80 Glenview residents helped clean up the Chicago River as part of Chicago River clean up day, where 4,000 volunteers removed trash and invasive plants at 70 river locations from the north to the south suburbs, Glenview Announcement reported.

The Glenview team worked on the West Branch of the North Fork in the Techny Basin, which serves as a naturalized storm water detention in Glenview, according to Henrietta Saunders, chairwoman of the Glenview Natural Resources Commission, Glenview Announcement reported.
