Children's Pick: "Baby Badger's Wonderful Night" by Karen Saunders
Summary:

Baby Badger is afraid of the night. It’s dark and lonely. But Papa Badger promises there is nothing to fear. Together they take a nighttime walk, and Papa shows Baby the beautiful colors and shining stars, and just how magical the world becomes when the sun goes down.
Liz says: "A great book for bedtime and for those that are afraid of the dark! Baby Badger and his Dad explore all of the great things that night has to offer and realize that the dark is a magical place to be. With wonderful illustrations by Dubravka Kolanovic."

Teen/Young Adult Pick: "Dear Bully: 70 Authors Tell Their Stories" by Various Authors
Summary
: Today’s top authors for teens come together to share their stories about bullying—as silent observers on the sidelines of high school, as victims, and as perpetrators—in a collection at turns moving and self-effacing, but always deeply personal.
Liz says: "This collection of personal stories is especially important for both teens and parents to read as the issue of bullying and teen suicide becomes more and more prevalent in the media. The book includes a wide range of well-known authors including Mo Willems, R.L. Stine, Stephanie Kuehnert, Jon Scieszka and more."

Adult Pick: "Life Itself: A Memoir" by Roger Ebert
Summary
: For the first time, Roger Ebert tells the full, dramatic story of his life and career.
Liz says: "A fascinating, touching and at times humorous look into the life of film critic, writer, Pulitzer Prize winner and (Chicago) icon Roger Ebert. We follow Ebert from his Midwestern childhood when he first discovers his love for writing through his days at The Chicago Sun-Times and on his Television Programs "Sneak Previews" and "At The Movies" through his battle with Illness and near death to today.  This is a great read and the perfect gift for any moviephile."
