Library Dedication Attracts Hundreds, Rep. Schakowsky Speaks

The Glenview Public Library celebrated completion of its multi-year renovation project with a dedication ceremony June 12.

Last Saturday, the finally closed the book on more than a decade of planning and two and a half years of construction with a 300-person dedication ceremony and community reception.

A two-tiered parking structure and drive-up library services were introduced at the dedication, the culmination of a three-phase project. The library on November 1, 2008 and October 9, 2010.  

Congresswoman , along with State Senator Jeff Schoenberg, State Representatives and , and Maine Township Supervisor Carol Teschky, offered congratulations and messages regarding the importance of public libraries in our communities.

Library Board President M. David Johnson was on hand to emcee the ceremony along with participation by Library Director Vickie L. Novak, Deputy Village Manager Don Owen and former Library Board Trustee and community member Richard Clark.

Project Architects PSA-Dewberry assisted with the unveiling of the dedication plaque.
