The two are devoted to their schools, where they not only teach today but also attended as students. James attended Glenbrook North and Katie went to Glenbrook South. They didn't meet until college, however, when both attended school in Ohio. They later married in winter of 2006.

In addition to their subjects of choice, both new parents are active in their respective schools' athletics programs. James coached both football and volleyball and Katie coaches volleyball. At one point, both were coaching JV boys' volleyball and tensions ran high at times in the house as a result, the Hoovers told Patch.

"Having our teams play each other directly was a lot of fun," James said. "My kids thought it was great. It was the middle of the game and we'd take a time out and they'd say, 'Do you think your wife's mad at you?' We're a little bit competitive."

The Hoovers agreed both Glenbrook North and Glenbrook South will be supported by their new addition to the family and Hannah will remain an impartial fan of the two.

"We need to get her some more gear," joked Katie.

The couple hopes their daughter will share their enthusiasm for sports but said no matter what Hannah's interests turn out to be, they're excited she's here.

"With her long arms, we're hoping she grows to be tall, like her dad," Kate said. "She could turn out to be a great musician, or an artist. You never know."
