Washington Road Detour In Effect Through August
Washington has been restricted to one-way, northbound-only traffic between Central Road and Norwood Court
Street rehabilitation work has begun on Washington Road between Central Road and Norwood Court for asphalt replacement and removal.
Because of the road work, Washington has been restricted to one-way, northbound-only traffic between Central Road and Norwood Court. Southbound traffic can use either Shermer Road or Greenwood Road as a detour.
Access to driveways along Washington Road will be maintained throughout the detour and emergency vehicles will have access to the road at all times. Trash collection and mail delivery will also continue during the duration of the detour.
When the new road is complete around mid-August, two-way traffic will be restored. The project was planned to be completed before the 2013-14 school year starts, since access to Springman Middle School, 2701 Central Road, is impacted.
