Duran Duran’s Glenview-Based Fan Club Failed to Pay Out, Band Says

The pop group filed a lawsuit this week for breach of contract.

The ‘80s pop group Duran Duran is suing its Glenview-based fan club for what the band claims is breach of contract for not paying it what was promised, according to an article in the Chicago Sun-Times.

The group behind hits like “Rio” and “Hungry Like the Wolf” filed a lawsuit Monday in Cook County Circuit Court alleging that Worldwide Fan Clubs failed to keep accurate accounting records and make payments to the band, as was laid out in their 2010 contract, the article says. The club was supposed to collect membership fees and sell merchandise, giving the band 75 percent of the profits.
