The Arts of Life Summer Carnival

The Arts of Life, a Chicagoland arts organization for and collaboratively run by developmentally disabled adults, is welcoming the public to their North Shore studio for the 2nd Annual Summer Carnival. This family-friendly event and fundraiser will take place on Saturday, June 16th from 3-8pm at 1963 Johns Drive in Glenview, IL.

Back this year by popular demand, The Arts of Life staff dare you to dunk them in the crowd favored dunk tank. The carnival will also feature other classic games like the beanbag toss, cake walk, lollipop tree and much much more! Clowns and magicians provided by Chicago’s most whimsical entertainment company Ice Cream Team (http://www.icecreamteam.org/main.php) will amuse and amaze the crowd. The Arts of Life artists will showcase their unique talents through face painting, caricatures and in the new gallery exhibition featuring over 50 original works of art. Rounding up the entertainment will be live music from School of Rock (http://www.schoolofrock.com/) and a live auction with all proceeds supporting The Arts of Life.

This year’s Summer Carnival will also be the culmination of a 45-day Summer Leap to raise $20,000 to to ensure our high level of quality programming as our studios continue to grow. Event staff will track donations during the carnival and the attendant who makes the largest donation will be crowned King or Queen of the Carnival. Businesses are also welcome to sponsor their favorite carnival game to future support The Arts of Life’s important mission.

Entry to the event is a $10 suggested donation and open to the public. Guests will purchase tickets to play games, pay for pints of cold beer from Finch's Beer Company (http://www.finchbeer.com/) and mouth-watering treats provided by Red Rabbit Catering.

About:
The Arts of Life is an organization comprised of people with and without disabilities creating an artistic culture to realize their full potential. Founded in 2000, The Arts of Life was the first program in Chicago to provide employment in the arts for adults with developmental disabilities. The studio serves as both an alternative day program and creative home for its artists. Funded partly by the Department of Human Services, The Arts of Life also greatly depends on fundraising efforts and grants to sustain its program. Artist's work can be viewed throughout Chicago at several local cafes and businesses.
