North-Bound Metra Trains Delayed During Rush Hour

Milwaukee District North Line trains are delayed and operating late due to a switch problem at Western Ave., the Metra website is reporting. This affects trains bringing passengers to the North Shore. 


The following trains are specifically affected:

  • Train #2125, scheduled to depart Chicago at 3:55 p.m. and arrive in Fox Lake at 5:24 p.m., is running 13 minutes behind. 
  • Train #2127, scheduled to depart Chicago at 4:16 p.m. and arrive in Deerfield at 5:10 p.m. has not yet departed Chicago. 
  • Train #2129, scheduled to depart Chicago at 4:40 p.m. and arrive Fox Lake at 6:04 p.m., has not departed Chicago.
  • Train #2133, scheduled to depart Chicago at 4:48 p.m. and arrive Deerfield at 5:43 p.m., has not departed Chicago.
  • Train #2131, scheduled to depart Chicago at 6:18 p.m. and arrive Fox lake at 6:18 p.m., has not departed Chicago.
"Personnel are on the scene to correct the problem and updates will be posted as soon as more information  is obtained," the Metra website states. 

A Patch reader at Ogilve Station in Chicago said a sign at the station said that all trains are currently delayed.
