El Mexican Restaurant Opened To Rave Reviews

A Glenbrook North grad's mexican restaurant opened last autumn at 2528 Waukegan Rd, and Yelp reviewers haven't wasted any time gushing over the spot.

With 33 reviews as of Friday, El Mexican Restaurant has an average of four out of five stars.

Mike K. from Glenview wrote, "Everything tastes so fresh here and the accompanying salsa's are a real treat. You can tell that a lot of thought and love has gone into the planning of this place."

Taylor M. from Long Grove wrote, "I really enjoyed how El Mexican's dishes are based on locally grown produce and hormone free meats. I feel a bit healthier knowing all that!"

Jeff G. from Glenview only gave the restaurant two stars, however.

"Taco Nino in nearby Northfield kicks the pants of El Mexican.  But this doesn't have to be a winner take all proposition and I'm glad we have such great Mexican choices in the neighborhood," he wrote.

Neighboring Muscle Maker Grill, which opened a few months after El, hasn't seen quite the same praise as El.

The nutrition-focused restaurant at 2532 Waukegan Rd. currently has a three-and-a-half out of five stars, with 15 reviews.
