Glenview New Home to Pharmaceutical Company HQ

Astellas Pharma's headquarters for the Americas recently relocated from Deerfield. The expansion will mean investing approximately $140 million in Illinois and adding around 150 high-tech jobs.

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn and Congressman Bob Dold were on hand with Astella’s Pharma US President and CEO Yoshihiko Hatanaka Monday morning to welcome the pharmaceutical giant’s new headquarters to Glenview.

The company’s headquarters for the Americas were in Deerfield but recently relocated to two six-story buildings at a new Glenview campus straddling the Northbrook border at Willow Road and I-294, according to the Associated Press.

Company officials of Tokyo-based Astellas say they have added 200 employees in Illinois since 2011. Additionally, the expansion will mean investing approximately $140 million in the Glenview facility and adding around 150 high-tech jobs, Area Development Online reports.
