Holiday Guide: Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Join the jolly old elf for breakfast, dessert or just a photo as he skips through Glenview over the next few weeks.

Santa Claus kicks off the holiday season in Glenview when he joins the Holiday in the Park and Parade on November 24. The parade begins at Noon and end at Jackman Park where children will have the opportunity to visit with Santa.

There will also be hay rides, a train ride for kids provided by Kohl’s Children Museum, carolers, cookies, hot chocolate, hot apple cider, and popcorn.

Make holiday reservations for Breakfast with Santa at the Glenview Park Golf Club Cafe, 800 Shermer Road. Santa will be there December 1, 8 and 15. There will be two seatings available, at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. each day.

Enjoy a breakfast buffet for $14 / person, children under two are free. Reservations can be made by calling 847-657-3200.

Join Santa and Mrs. Claus for breakfast and photos Dec. 8 at the Book Market at Hangar One, 2651 Navy Blvd. The holiday tradition at the Glen Town Center’s annual event will be catered by Eggsperience Restaurant. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available during breakfast for photos.

The event, which begins at 9 a.m., is free and open to the public. Donations of new children’s gifts are encouraged, and will be donated to benefit Youth Services of Glenview.

Reservations are required and begin Nov. 26.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be hosting storytime at the Book Market at Hangar One on Dec. 17 from 10 – 11 a.m. Join the duo as they make a special visit to read several holiday classics to the children. The event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will also make an appearance at the Holiday Merriment Celebration on Dec. 15 from 5 – 9 p.m. at the Glen Town Center, 1951 Tower Dr.

Enjoy a Country Christmas and Dessert with Santa at the Grove.

On Nov. 24, 28 and 29 you’ll have an opportunity to tour the Pioneer Log Cabin where families can participate in craft projects, games, songs and a story. Then, stroll throught eh woods to the historic Redfield Estate to enjoy refreshments, decorating a cookie and a visit with Santa.

The cost for the two-hour program is $10 for residents / $12 for non-residents.
