McGovern's Tavern Has Closed

The restaurant opened near Willow and Shermer shortly after last year's train derailment and bridge collapse, that cut off Shermer Road traffic.

Barely a year after opening, and shortly after the bridge collapse that shut down part of Shermer Road to vehicle traffic, McGovern's Public House on Willow Road has closed down.

Owner Declan Morgan told the Chicago Tribune that Willow Road construction dealt the final blow to the restaurant, "if I had known they'd do that work on Willow road, I wouldn't have moved in," he said.

However, the restaurant wasn't exactly a hit with customers either.
